To send a fax e-mail
To send a fax e-mail, you need to create an e-mail containing the following mandatory elements:
- To: The e-mail address configured on the Fax Voip T.38 Console POP3 / IMAP Settings to accept fax or audio message e-mails (e.g. [email protected]).
- Subject: The subject line is used to determine the numbers you wish to send the fax to (e.g. 14256681718). You can specify not only Recipient Fax Number but also the Recipient Name (e.g. 16317801544<Andreas Grein>). You can also specify several fax recipients which should be separated by semicolons (e.g. 14256681718;16317801544<Andreas Grein>). The Recipient Name is usually displayed on fax cover page, see also in the Sending Cover Pages chapter of this user manual.
- The email body. You can to leave this field empty. Optionally, you can specify cover page subject and cover page note in the body part of your e-mail message. See details in the Sending Cover Pages chapter of this user manual.
- Attachments. The actual fax content is taken from the attachment. You can attach one or more files that will be merged into a single fax message. Supported file formats that can be converted into the fax are discussed in the E-mail attachments chapter. In the case of sending a fax consisting only of a cover page, you should not attach files to your e-mail message.
To send an audio message e-mail
To send an audio message e-mail, you need to create an e-mail containing the following mandatory elements:
- To: The e-mail address configured on the Fax Voip T.38 Console POP3 / IMAP Settings to accept fax or audio message e-mails (e.g. [email protected]).
- Subject: The subject line is used to determine the numbers you wish to send the audio message to (e.g. 18502121616). You can specify several phone numbers which should be separated by semicolons (e.g. 18502121616;13605108074).
- Attachments. The actual audio content is taken from the attachment. Allowed file extensions for audio messages: WAV and MP3. Please note that sending multiple audio attachments are not supported.
Notes
- Sending multiple audio attachments, as well as sending attachments of different types (fax and audio) in single e-mail message are not supported. In both cases, the 'Audio file in combination with multiple attachments' error will be returned in the e-mail delivery notification.
